Seasons

Winter Is Coming!

We’re trying to get the pole barn built before winter sets in. Then we’ll pull our RVs inside, light up the big wood stove that Keith bought, and stay cozy. Hopefully. Meanwhile, signs of winter have already been showing up. Temps in the mid-to-high 30s at night, mid-to-high 40s in the daytime. Lots of wind and rain. And mud. Lots of mud. Sticky mud that clings to your boots. In one trip to the kennel, I gain 2 inches in height and 20 pounds in weight due to the mud that sticks to my boots. (Okay, maybe a little exaggeration, but not much.) They say northern Idaho has three seasons: Summer, Winter, and Mud. And you get mud season twice, before and after Winter.

Here are the views from Saturday morning. This is the first snow we’ve seen and the snow line is probably a thousand or so feet above us at this point.
