Singing in the Rain (and Hail)!

Today we received delivery of the materials to frame our little home!

Delivering building materials for framing our little cabin.

Since the weather was supposed to be pretty good, we also waterproofed the foundation and started installing insulating foam inside of the (soon-to-be) crawlspace. We had quite a bit of rain earlier in the week, so there was some mud, but it wasn’t too bad–until it started snowing, then turned to hail, then to rain, while we were working! It got very muddy very fast, so we called it a day; just one adventure after another up here!

We came back to the North Haven Campground, stopping at The Gathering Place to pick up some frozen enchiladas for dinner, a rare treat! The videos are from our YouTube channel, Adventures in Homesteading. (Use the link instead of searching, because there are several channels that use the same or similar names.) You can also subscribe to our channel to see videos including those we don’t put on the blog.

Our builder says he should be able to start early next week and we’re planning to get the crawlspace insulation finished before then. Unfortunately, the moisture barrier we’ve ordered won’t be here for another week. We waited too late to order, so we’ll have to put that in after the floor is enclosed. Stan can call on his experience caving to do that work in the dark. (People who do it call it caving; people who don’t do it call it spelunking. 🙂)
