Winter is coming here! Here’s a photo of our thermometer Friday morning when we got up. The top number is the outside temp (note the minus sign!), #2 is the temp in the crawlspace, #3 is the kitchen, and #4 is the bedroom. Brrr!

A day or two before the extreme cold hit, Mary, daughter Rachel (with Mellie), Cindy, and Penny went sledding!

The dogs joined in the fun!

Rachel has been living in the RV, but moved into the house for a few days during the cold snap. We’re thankful that our little wood stove is keeping the house (relatively) warm, but during the coldest periods we do have to get up two or three times during the night to feed it. In retrospect, we probably should have gotten at least the next size up.

We didn’t get a lot of snow, maybe 5 or 6 inches. We’re expecting more this week and the temperatures are supposed to moderate somewhat.
