Independence Day 2023!
Independence Day was celebrated with a parade at the Eastport border crossing with parade entrants including anyone who wanted to join in. People from both sides of the border participated. Many came prepared with stashes of candy which they tossed to the children by the handfuls. Following the parade, there was a potluck dinner at Hall Mountain Volunteer Fire Department Firehouse #3 located behind the store at Good Grief. A good time was had by all. A fireworks display was to follow after dark, but since “dark” doesn’t come until around 10pm we didn’t hang around for that.
