Continuing Fires
Several more fires have been started by lightning recently. There is now an official “Incident Center” in Bonners Ferry to coordinate fire suppression efforts. We hear (and see) frequent helicopter flights as they carry in large buckets of water to dump on the fires. Yesterday there was so much smoke that we couldn’t see any mountains! A few minutes ago I noticed that there were plumes of smoke coming from the Kootenai valley: a new development. So I went out and got a few pictures. Here are some photos from the other night along with the new ones.
